Hey guys,
Just bought a 99 996 C2 a few weeks back, new to the P. forums.
Couple quick questions.
-Looking for all clear headlights, where these a factory option on the facelift models? Can I just swap them or any leads where to get them?
-Planning to upgrade the wheels, can anybody tell me the correct offsets I need? I searched and found out that I cannot fit the turbo 996 wheels but will wheels from other models fit? I want 18" but as wide as possible.

Welcome to 6 - it's nice to see another Cannuck!
Pictures. It's the law. When you post a 'new member' post, you *must* have pics.
Clear headlights - there is mod thread somewhere on the forum to deal with that. Search is your friend ;-)
(Hey congrats on the return of the Jets!)

Here is a pic.
I found the DIY for deleting the amber but those lights look different, It appears it was just an amber plastic piece inside it, where if you look it mine, the entire section is amber.
Thanks, we are still awaiting a name for the team, big press conference in the arena as we speak.

look at the 996 GT3 wheel specs, those are about as wide and aggressive as you can go with 18's, you can go with more aggressive offset then the GT3's in aftermarket wheels, but you'll get a good idea of what you can go with and not rub at all.
If you want a great looking & quality light weight wheel look at the Champion RG 5, i also like the OZ ultraleggera's, i'm personally running the 19" champion RG 19 which is even lighter then the RG5 bud is not produced any more...

You need new headlights, find them on ebay 1999-2001 clear ones. there is nothing you can do to fix the ones you have now

Welcome. For clear lights, continue scouring eBay and also try www.car-part.com, a site that many junk yards post.
The 996 GT3 wheel offsets are perfect. I found a set of stock GT3 wheels and they fill the fenders perfectly. Front 40et, Rears 63et

If you need wheels, we've got you covered! Just tell me what design do you favor, so we can get you more information. Here are a few examples! First one is a 996 the second is 997 but both wheels can be installed on a Porsche 996 with no problems.

Well, I finally got some wheels installed. I found a set of TwinTurbo Twists IIs from a 996TT. I read these will not fit on a narrow body but figured I would try. They are 9" and 11" ET50 and ET45. I installed 285/30/18s and 225/40s in the front. There is a slight poke in the rears, maybe 5mm but does not rub it all. The rear tires have a slight stretch when mounted on the 11s but nothing too crazy. When I go to lower the car, I may have to roll the rear a little, we will see. But the way it is now, I love the wide look. I will post some pictures up soon. It is nice to finally get rid of the 'boxster' 17" wheels.
Now I need to find some clear headlights. The orange is killing me!

porsche did not make a 18x9 front turbo twist wheel for 996.
porsche did make a 18x9 rear turbo twist wheel for 993.
ebay turbo twists can be any size or offset
you may want to double check your sizes and offsets if they are porsche OEM wheels.
You are correct, they are a 18x8 in the front, I was mistaken. They are authentic OEM. I will post pics later tonight.
They did stick out a bit but like I said, they dont rub at all even when I try pushing it hard around corners or going over dips at higher speeds. I may just leave the car at this height anyways. Pics to come....
