Question Aftermarket Upgrades

I'm a newbie who has just purchased a 2003 996 Cabriolet with vanilla options (hard top, Bose, PSM, std Carerra wheels). What would you experienced owners recommend as the most desireable upgrades for my car - either cosmetic or performance? That is, what are the first things you'd do when the money came available? Thanks.

if it doesn't have the PSE (sports exhaust), IMHO - I'd start there. Clear side markers are nice cosmetic addition.

performance = exhaust and short-shifter to start.. cosmetic = clear side markers, front lip and rockers.. that will give you a nice transition into becoming a modaholic

I say start with a ROW M030 suspension - way better handling.

Kriby's garage door hack! Good DIY functional mod, and cheap to boot...

Garage Door Hack

fyi, I put mine in the upper horshoe where PSM normally goes. I used the window switch like Kirby, however the dealer told me that the Targa switch looks like a garage door when mounted.

I WOULD DO A PERFORMANCE EXHAUST AND A SHORT SHIFTER.THERE ARE A FEW PEOPLE IN CHARLOTTE THAT HAVE SHORT SHIFTERS IN THEIR CARS.IF YOU GO TO THE PCA MEETING ASK AROUND,MOST PEOPLE LIKE THEM BUT A FEW DON'T.I'D TRY TO FEEL ONE IN A CAR FIRST BECAUSE IT'S ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT.SYMA HAS GHL MUFFLERS ON HIS CAR,YOU SHOULD TRY TO CONTACT HIM TO HEAR THE DIFFERENCE.PSE IS A NICE OPTION BUT A LITTLE PRICEY.IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE IDEAS GIVE ME A CALL AT 704-401-8563.

1.Any good exhaust (Fabspeed, GHL, Ruf, PSE-later gen).
2.Porsche SSK (can get them for $300 range online/ebay), at that price there is no reason to get the b&m on a warrantied car.
3. X73/74/ROW M030, stick with the factory suspension stuff.

too late for the red or blue pill... once you ask the question, It's all over for you buddy, mod after mod you will do ...
"Mod-addiction" just like the rest of everyone here...

don't you miss out on the red or yellow brake calipers, the simple alum. or stainless steel gauge rings, new color(silve, red, white or yellow) face gauges.

and save the best one for last = turbo front and GT3 side skirts .

have fun

Wheels will instantly transform your car and set it apart from the "average p-car". Then exhaust for the seat of the pants factor. Will
