Still have the cosmoline smell?
Mine still does with 35k miles, it's a very distinctive smell after the engine is at operating temp and the smell fills the garage as well when it cools off. I can tell that it's not burning oil coolant smell.
I understand that Porsche coats the engine and underside of our cars with cosmoline but is it normal to still have that aroma after 35k miles?

Mine still does that, especially after a hard drive. I have 103,500 miles on the clock. I've also heard that the distinctive Porsche smell is partially caused by miniscule rubber bits from the rear tires that melt on the mufflers. I like that smell.
I have 29000 miles on my 2004 Carrera 4 and it still has that smell. I am a new Porsche owner and was concerned. There are no leaks and I just had the 30,000 service done at the dealer and they said "it smells like a Porsche." I am in your camp, so I hope it is not anything we need to worry about.
If you're not smelling that, then you're not driving it hard enough!
FWIW, last year a rented a new 2010 C4S cab in Europe for a week. It made the exact same smell. It really is Porsche smell!
