advice on rims, they keep getting bent
Hello, I have a real nice set of OEM rims on my 911. Now I live in Manhattan and they keep getting bent from pot holes, I get flat tire. One rim is now beyond repair, and I can't find exact same one. So looking to buy a set of 4 I see them on amazon for 700-1000 for a set. Does it matter what kind they are, in terms of weight and inertia? Also are some rims better at taking pot holes than others maybe?
I guess the answer to my question is to sell the car for as long as I live in the city, but that's a different story.

I agree with FLY the only way around it is going with 17 inch rims and bigger side wall tire. If you want to stick with OEM rims look at a set of porsche snow wheels and tires.
Ny and NJ have the most horrible roads out there. Hard to avoid just need to pay attention ,I don't care what kind of rim you have if you hit it hard enough it will break.

I'm in NJ and had the same problem, finally went with 18" BBS LM'S, Very strong Forged Wheel. Forged IMO is the only way to for extra protection, not bullit or NY roads proof, but, better than cast wheels.
2 of my rears have been replaced on separate occasions by my insurance company. They both cracked the same way due to pot holes, I just think the rims are old and weak after 10 years of pot holes and tire mounting machines. The pic is kind of blurry but it shows the crack is always on the inside for some reason.
Also, I use my insurance company because they pay for the rim and tire(they say the tire is ruined once its driven on while flat) for a $200 deductible.

It won't fix the rim but a higher inflation will help protect your tire and rim.
It's not ideal due to possible uneven wear and a smaller contact patch but it beats going to 17"s
