Ya in looking at the fact I also did 997 mirrors, it is changing the car to a more modern, sharper line look with the air intakes, bumpers, and wing I also went with.

So I took your advice, and Precision is making TA 997 style for my 996 narrow body car. Will take a few weeks to make, but I think they are going to be wicked with the overall look of the car.

I've attached a pic of what I got and listed my factory Aero skirts: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3362541

Cheers
Aaron

Those 997 TA sideskirts would eliminate the 997 fender hack for the conversion, no?

I'm not doing a 997 fender / headlight conversion. These will be the first versions made to fit a 996 NB.

SC turbo ducts

I was interested in your plans to install functional turbo ducts for the SC. I just wrecked my C2 and have to replace a qtr panel....I figured since they are roughly $2k each, now might be a good time to go turbo fenders. Is this the way you were thinking of going or am I missing something obvious?

Also, any parts left for sale? My C2 is stripped down speed demon....no frills here. But wouldnt mind adding some.

These install into the NB quarters. You don't install wide body fenders, but there are kits out there that are wide body updates...

I only have my front fenders left.

So you're getting 997 style fenders that fit the 996 headlights that are contoured at the bottom to accept 997 TA style sideskirts?

Sorry for the confusion. Just trying to understand.

I bought original OEM front fenders already from an 02+ and xenon headlights. They are in my garage. So my '01 fenders are up for sale since they will not be used at all..

The side skirts are 997 TA style, but Precision is making the first ever set that will be made to fit 996 narrow body. So getting into very custom territory... but obviously he'll be selling them to other people once the mold is done.

Cheers

Just doing some initial test fitting, etc, but thought I'd share some pictures of the parts so far.

I did not know that.. That would explain the few MKII's I have seen around Newport that have the older more rounded skirts. You learn something new every five minutes around here. Which is why we're here ! Thank you,

Working on replacing the front fenders, so removed the front bumper, inner fender liners, etc, etc and finished the driver's side fender. Wow, do they suck to change... Now that I know where are the mounts are and how to get to them I'm assuming the other side will go much smoother.

I'll post some pics once I get the fenders changed and do some initial mounting of the front bumper.

Cheers

Got the front fenders changed and the front bumper mounted for the initial mounting.

Expecting the side skirts by the end of the month and I'll be installing those, cutting the holes in the quarter panels for the intake ducts, and doing final fit and finish tasks before my painter comes to see the car.

I need to modify the rear decklid to clear my supercharger, etc so I don't see this getting painted until early 2012 and of course hopefully before Spring!

Cheers
Aaron

hi, was curious on your progress. how hard is it to install the bumpers, and decklid? im a newbie; seems like the sales instructions say it is pretty easy just wondering. thanks.also would the unpainted parts be easy to add a wrap instead of paiting; im considering a matte silver wrap the entire car.

any with experiences can chime thanks.
