I don't know how it looks from a foot away but from the pictures, I'd leave it alone. It looks great

if you didn't mention plastidip, I would have thought it was a matte pearl 10k+ paint job. Who cares if its plastidip

Thanks!

Like I said, it has some issues up close and it is a driver -- so I'll likely leave it and have fun with it this year.

PlastiDip has come a long way... done right, you really can't tell if it is paint or not. I put some Meguiar's spray way on it and now it feels nice and smooth. Impressive stuff really...

Cheers
Aaron

Looks good from the pics at least. Another option is vinyl wrap, which has dropped in cost and the ability for diy'ers to apply more easily. A size of a 996 is around $500 and should be more durable and smoother than plastidip. Gonna do the wife's car this summer.

I started with that route... however, the issue there was the fibreglass as vinyl is made to stick to clearcoat finishes. The PlastiDip sticks to anything and everything.

PlastiDip can be sprayed just as smooth as a vinyl... just takes practice and white is a beeeotch to get right.

Like I said, its back on the road!

Cheers

The car and dip look great Here's a link to where I purchased the diveplanes (please keep in mind, they need 2 rivets, top/bottom, to secure them to the bumper):

nice work! I'm amazed you were able to wait this long to get it back on the road! I would have been way too eager to try the supercharger out!

I had a season with the SC before I put it down for body upgrades.

Took an epic 100km drive yesterday. Was great to be back in the P-car... Here are some pics after:

Looks nice. Never really thought of the silver/red combo but I gotta say that it works. The white really contrasts with all the vents too. That rear bumper wouldn't look as special against a dark color like mine as everything would blend in.

Thanks. The mirrors are inspired by a GT3 4.0 RS. I like the white on GT3 cars since they have all the vents and it makes them pop so much.

Btw, this is a before picture...

Cheers

Is that the GT3 Tek rear 997 RS bumper?
