Depending on your options it could be the amplifier.

First thing to check would be all of the fuses.

check fuses...or even check if it is locked out due to the security code to reactivate

This happened to my system. It ended up being the Bose amp. If yours is a 2003 or newer, you have the MOST connection/fiber optic between the amp and head unit. You then replace the amp with the same Bose or replace the head unit and amp with an aftermarket one.

I integrated an Alpine head unit and amp to the Bose speakers.

Thanks for the feedback!

I will check the fuses first, then look at the AMP.

I assume an aftermarket is the most cost beneficial option?

If you want to remain stock I've seen used amps pop up every now and then for little money. You could get a used one from a breakers such as www.dcauto.com.

Most (if not all?) of the aftermarket amp solutions probably require some splicing, as I had to do on my car.

I've had this happen a couple of times over the years as well. Actually, for mine to reset successfully, I have to actually lock the doors and then unlock them again. Gotta love that quirky German engineering eh?

A brand new Bose amp runs about $900. Remanufactured goes for about $700. Used ones would be $150 to $300. I was concerned the used ones would have the same problem.

I integrated an aftermarket system to the Bose speakers. I installed an Alpine headunit (CDA-105), Alpine amp (PDX-5), with bluetooth for less than $1000.

I bought a factory Bose amp wiring plug from a website in England and headunit plug from Crutchfield. The additional wiring was from Amazon. My whole system plugs into the factory plugs so it is completely reversable. I did not cut into the factory wires.

I now have Bluetooth audio and phone, ipod connection, and cleaner sound.
