Sorry I didn't take any pictures. It's very easy as there is so much space to work with.
Pull the airbox. Remove belt. The kit is provided with a bolt that you put through the originally pulley. That locks the pulley from turning and you use a 24mm socket to remove crank bolt. Use a hacksaw to grind down the stub(it's sitting at upper left corner where the bolt went in to lock the original pulley). Install new/smaller pulley with provided tool to lock pulley from turning. Install belt(technically you need to use a 14mm smaller belt but OEM belt is perfectly fine). Install airbox.
I've put about 800 miles since and it's totally worth it. I don't have a clutch pedal so the gearing isn't that ideal and getting the revs up between 2-4k can be a little lazy. After the pulley, car definitely rev's easier.

Not sure on the torque specs...I just tightened as tight as I could plus an additional 90 degrees or so...I know i should have used a torque wrench but too late now

I'm very interested in this mod myself, but this 14mm difference may scare me off as I have enough to worry about with a 99 manual.

Does anyone or can anyone else chime in and either verify that in the long run the 14 mm difference is ok with the same belt? Or is there a different one we should be using?

The reason I'm asking if because I need to install a new belt on my car sometime in the next couple weeks and it would be nice to kill two birds with one belt

If you're going with RSS, it's a 15% reduction and even Mike@RSS states to use OEM length AS LONG AS your OEM is in good condition. There are a few other companies that I believe make up to 20%? reduction that may need shorter belt. The RSS installed with OEM length was perfectly tight and many many boxster owners use OEM length belt for years now. Search the other forum planet9. If you are that worried, you can purchase a shorter belt.

Was re-mapping the software a noticable inprovement? I'm going to send mine out when I have the time to tear apart the back area.

The ECU upgrade was very noticable. I have the 99 cable car and have been told by others that it would be a waste of time and money.

To each its own.. I have told everyone i know with one of these cars that they should do it. This car is fast... i ran a 12.8 at 111+ with my bolt ons. And if anyone tries to say im full of it... they can suk it! Mind you i have extensive head porting and polishing.... but still ... lol

The ECU was helpful! mu .02 cents
