996 horn questions
Just removed the front bumper to investigate a bad horn. I was amazed at how much crap finds its way into the radiators!
The horn that is not working is the "high" tone one, but the working "low" horn sounds like it is too high pitched. Is the other low horn defective and just hasn't failed outright yet, or is there some other cause, like a bad relay, etc.?
Also, are there aftermarket horns available that are plug n' play / don't require new electrical connectors?

Looks nice, but I seriously doubt that the Griots Horn will plug right in. The terminals on the factory horn are tiny pins, nothing like standard 1/4" spade connectors. You'd probably have to make up some kind of adapter or cut the factory wiring and mod the connectors.
looks like the most PITA part is the removal of the front bumper: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...orns-pics.html
Pulling the bumper wasn't that bad. A side benefit is the opportunity to cleaning out the condensors and radiators.
I went ahead and bought 2 OE manuf. horns from autohausaz.com. at approx $13 each.

Great horn; I have one mounted on my wife's Volvo C70. I bought it for my '99 Carrera 4 with Tip and aero kit, but could not find a place it would fit on the car. On my car the high tone had died but the low tone was still working, so I ended up buying a new OE high tone horn.
