Talking Suggestions for more modifications/upgrades?

Any Pro Mod folks out there with more tips to upgrade (within Carb Legal, able to pass emissions testing) for my 996?

I'm waiting for my personalized customization A.W.E. Exhaust to come in! ) Will post photos and vids once my Exhaust installment is done and once I get Dyno tested.

@scantu: Hi, very true. I used to write peer-reviewed scientific evidence base articles and sometimes its hard to get rid of old habits. LoL. Sorry about that. 1 video, I promise.
How about you? Any suggestions on mods? Also, what mods have you done?

Thanks.

i'm assuming you cant get high flow cats in your state as they're not carb legal.. the only thing left you can get to improve performance is headers.

RSS underdrive pulley kit. I noticed a difference in the feel of power. Maybe not much gain, but the seat of your pants enjoys it!

The regular rss pulley? Not the balanced one right?

A regular underdrive RSS pulley kit should help. rss is a well know brand in the racing community.

Gee Tee,

Yes, i used the non-balanced pulley. Not only is it smaler, it is also significantly lighter.

I'm not sure if the RSS pulleys are actually lighter. Anyways, ordered an RSS pulley, 15% reduction, and just got done with the installation. Very easy as expected. Put everything together and took her for a drive....you weren't kidding scantu. Nice little bump in power.

HA Ha!!! I knew you'd like it! Its something you have to just experience.... I doubt a higher number on the dyno, but the delivery in power is noticable!!

Im glad you did this too... not many people believe in the underdrive pulley theory.

GeeTee,

Out of curiosity.... Which method did you use to modify your block for installation?? I used an air grinder... looking for an easier way as a friend wants to do the same thing.

He was sold on the performance gain. best $200 spent

UDP's are used on many applications and I've had them on many other nonPorsche's in the past. I haven't seen that many 996/997's use them and wasn't even aware there were any for us. Recently, I saw your post and saw quite a few 986's use them. There seems to be 3-4 companies with UDP's. Anyways, it's so much rev happier than before. It sorta feels like you've gained more low end torque. I haven't pulled up to redline yet but I'll do that on my way to work tomorrow.
I used a handsaw with a 10 inch blade. Went to Lowe's and picked up a cheap handsaw($7) and 5-6 blades. It was pretty easy to cut through the alum. block. It probably took 10-15 min. at the most to cut the little nub off.
