UPDATE INCASE ANYONE SEARCHING: IT WAS THE THROWOUT BEARING- HAD CLUTCH IMS RMS AOS ALL DONE

I have a 2002 C2 with 58K on original Clutch- I'm assuming i just need a new clutch but thought i'd post this anyways!

Noticed yesterday the clutch was a bit sticky- Then this morning when warming up the car, i noticed everytime i push the clutch in i hear a ticking noise- I did a little bit of driving, then the ticking when engaging the clutch became a whine + ticking-(THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I PUSH IN THE CLUTCH) otherwise the car is driving fine and shifting fine, not feeling slippage- Now obviously i'm not driving the car anymore.. Hoping its just the clutch which i knew sooner or later i'd need to do + chance to do the IMS-AOS & all that other good stuff!

Hope it isn't another issue..ticking + whine seems a bit strange, thought the clutch would simply slip bad when needing to be replaced!

Thanks

Could just be the clutch throwout (or release) bearing going bad...the OEM Porsche replacement clutch kit contains a new one of these. Nevertheless have a specialist Porsche mechanic check the car out.

Good luck.

I would say throw out bearing is going bad too. ~2k for the dealer to replace throw out bearing and clutch. I would get the AOS replaced while the tranny is dropped. It is a ~$200 part and not much labor once the tranny is dropped. Otherwise it WILL be another ~$1300 to replace it down the road.
