brighter xenon bulb replacements?

Any way to increase the intensity of my xenon's? Do the bulbs loose their intensity after a while? They just dont seem as bright as they used to be. I would like to get brighter ones with matching fogs if possible.

Make sure that you use the same W with the stock, otherwise it will melt your headlight housing. One of the reason why the xenon isn't as bright is because you use it so much and they form something on the headlight, it turns kinda black after a while...

Yes Shawn they can lose up to 25% of their intensity over the bulbs life time and they also colorshift which in short means the bulbs color is somewhere around 5400K and not 4100K like a new bulb.

Shawn,
the bulbs in our car is D2S. the bulb is 4100k, some say 4300k. that's actually the brightest light u can get as it's the closest to pure white light. u might also check out the follow chart.

i did the following test side by side with OEM 4100k (Porsche) with the 6000k replacement bulb (M3). u can see the difference in the pics. theoretically the 4100k is brighter than the 8000k but in person the 8000k has more coverage & feels brighter than 4100k. however, i don't know how ours eyes can adjust to the bluish hue at night driving. i think the 5250k is ideal as it's the closest Kelvin to natural sunlight BUT it might endanger the oncoming traffic. the rest is ur call. don't have to worry about the W as most of the xenons are 35W.

Shawn: very easy to replace for the Cayenne, I am sure that its easy for the 911 too. For the Cayenne, you just need to pop out the whole headlight and change it and put it back in.

Where to buy them? Depends to what brand you want. I don't think I like PIAA anymore, last time I used it, the bulb broke in less than 6 months.

Shawn,
the best D2S u can buy on the market is PHILIPS 6000k Ultinon. they're not cheap. run a search on Ebay u'll see some. make sure it's the real deal & it comes with warranty. as for the fog light, it's H3 & PIAA makes it but like DEETZ said it doesn't last very long. i used to buy it from www.imotorgear.com

don't buy the fog bulbs yet unless u decide the color of the low beam if u want them to match.

Shawn, later today I'll give you a source to buy from. But it all depends what you want in terms of brightness or color, yes there is a trade off. If you would like to know more about Xenon/HID info just post and I'll give you the info.

WARDHOG will become famous soon enough
I purchased these a year ago and really like them a lot. They help spot oil and water on the road and great in the fog too. These are yellow lights and these are the only place that really sell the Ion crystal bulbs when I searched for them a little over a year ago.

Shawn: look in your manual...

Can you take some photos when you have it on your car? I may want to replace my foglight bulb again.

Shawn, do you want what you car had from the factory, and you have litronic's right?

If you buy the OEM bulbs they will look a little yellow to you because of how new they are, and if you want them brighter I wouldn't buy the 6000K bulbs.

The bulb size is D2S

OEM VS 8000k

My cousin bring back a set of 8000k D2S from HK and we put it in his C4S after mother's day dinner. here is side by side with my OE 4300k...

The pics don't do justify. mine is yellow and his are white - close to blue. the pics does not been photoshop or any adjustment. see for your self... now I want one set of that...
