I'm new!

Hi guys! I just picked up a 2000 911 coupe. I had a Pontiac G8 and sold to have a car I have always wanted. I am going to Indiana University for Optometry and am 20 years old. I know how helpful these boards can be as I was a BMW one before the G8 and was on G8board.com as well. I look forward to chatting with you guys. Now onto the Porsche.

It is a 2000 911 converted Turbo look. 46,000 miles. I will post pics once the weather clears up here.

Are these cars fairly reliable?
The only problem i am having is a minor clunk when going over bump (driveway, speed bumps, etc) Is that a common problem?

Anyway I am very excited about my new car and am ready for the Porsche experience.

Thanks guys!

Hello and welcome. Looking forward to the photo of your new ride...

These cars are very reliable if properly maintained, but they can get expensive. Keep up on your maintenance and you should be fine.

The clunk you describe sounds like worn drop link bushings, which is a common issue. I had this same issue last year and had them replaced, and now the clunk is gone.

Good luck with your new car!

I am getting my bumper plugs this week and will take some pics for you guys! I am loving this car so far! Bumper has some rock chips so will need that repainted, besides that its awesome. oh and the outdated alpine single din head unit and equalizer, but I will have to live with that! =(
