New owner maintenance?
New owner maintenance?
I just got my 911 as some of you know. It just hit 46k miles. runs like a champ. I was going to go ahead and get an oil change just to be safe. Is there anything else I should do while I am at it? I want this to be a reliable car as it is my DD.
Thanks guys, you have already been so helpful.

With an unknown maintenance history, I would initially replace the following: oil/filter (Mobil 1 0w40), air filter, fuel filter, and coolant. Fluids first on all my new purchases. Welcome to the P-car $$maintenance$$ club.
I agree, do your oil now and inspect the filter for metal (cheap insurance). Then I would refill with a very high quality 5W-40 oil. Preferably one with a lot of ZDDP. Search oils and you'll have some reading to keep you busy. I think the Mobil 0-40 is good, but that there are better for your car. Do your air filter while you're in there too. If your car is idling rough, you may want to search the DIY on how to clean your MAF. That is really easy especially when you're doing your air filter. It is a quick fix to get your car running smoother with more power (if it is not now). Good luck and welcome aboard!
