You had a GT3RS bumper cover. Out of curiosity, I know it looked made out of plastic in the pics you had posted. But did it come painted white or was it just in a shiny plastic white finish and still needed painting.

And before anyone asks no I'm not getting a GT3RS bumper this has to do with something else.

Not Arling, but from what I remember it was painted Carrera White (I remember some questions back and forth about the particular paint code color in the thread)

 

Thanks, but do you know if it came in in a white plastic or grey plastic before it was painted. I remember someone saying something regarding the fact that every RS is white. There is a picture of one in the performance products catalog not on a car and it appears to be white also.

Picture always help hope this time will again. to answer ur question, the bumper is painted perfectly white & with minor new-car-look orange peel outside. the plastic appears to be yellowish white but dull. the primer seems to be white as well.

rs bumper is painted white however, it's not the same white on us spec 996 gt3's carerra white.

we tried to install one but it had to be painted to match the white paint on the car.

 

btw Corey, to give u another hint. always looks for the detail. does the bumper in the Performance Product catalog has factory opening bumper plugs hole? Motorsport bumper doesn't have that.

if u follow up the thread in the for sale forum when i first got the bumper in, u'll see i did a comparsion with another Carrera white car side by side & the color matched 99%. with Porsche u'll never know though. i had a brand new 997S cab a week ago @ the shop with different shade of bumper color on the car.

yes, since all GT3 RS come in white, it makes sense that the replacement parts are pre-painted
