A light weight flywheel would almost certainly provide the most significant improvement in throttle response.

Regarding other options I would rate: ECU upgrade, x-pipe headers and plenum over headers and exhausts when it comes to throttle response. These upgrades will also provide substantially more mid range power.

Both upgrading to lighter wheels and swapping to RS engine mounts will give noticeable improvements.

Adding an open intake EVOMS or similar might help. I am unsure if it will provide any more improvement than exhaust and headers, but due to the lower cost I would prioritize the intake.

I have done all of the above upgrades bar the flywheel and I find the throttle response to be very good even at 40mph in 3rd. At 40mph in 2nd passengers will slam their head into the headrest if the accelerator is not treated with caution. I would love to do the flywheel to improve my throttle response further but have decided not to due to numerous reports of engine failure :-(.

Not kidding but first make a plan complete with a budget. You may find upgrading to a more powerful pcar is cheaper and much more effective. Just keep the end objective in mind before you start spending your money.remember that mods just add zero dollars to the value of your car. In fact it may reduce the value!!!!

Are you sure about the exhaust?
If you research the forum you will see plenty of diagrams proving that a free flow exhaust will lead to backpressure loss which means drop of torque at low rpm. But im not sure if this applies to n/a cars, an expert is needed on this.
For a mid range gain power i was suggested by my mechanic to to an ECU upgrade.

Out of all the mods I have done on my car, I would put exhausts last on my list while I probably would not have replaced the headers. Personnally I chose Fabspeed exhausts, but chose FVD headers as Fabspeed headers have slightly larger diameter than stock. All other things equal larger diameter headers will reduce the "dynamic supercharging" effect that Porsche designed into this engine to achieve a volumetric effiency of 102% at 4500 rpm. Fabspeed released a new header design last year that should be improved, but these are probably optimized for a 3,6 and not a 3,4.

Swapping exhaust will have a slight improvement in power but also save weight, which is always a good thing .

Still, the other mods will provide much, much more improvements in throttle response. If you install X-pipe sport cats, plenum and ECU the improvement will be substantial.
I ended up chosing EVOMSit ECU upgrade and got them to adjust it to the mods on my car. This alone provided worthwile results.

When it comes to bang for the buck I would start by getting a set of Carrera 2003 lightweight 5-spoke wheels. I saved more than 20lb rotating weight when I replaced my Sportdesign (GT3) wheels with these. If you do the maths this equals 7-8 hp power increase, but also helps with breaking and roadholding. I paid less for these wheels than I got for my old ones so this turned out to be worthwile . Other wheel options like Champion RG5 or OZ Alleggerita are even lighter, but will be more expensive.

Hey Guys, make sure to check out the Fabspeed Package. We have a full kit that includes our Headers, X Pipe Sport Cats, Maxflo Mufflers with Dual Tips and Competition Air Intake. That setup makes a noticeable HP and TQ increase, in addition to an awesome sound. Here is the link to our X Pipe Sport Cats which work great and make more power then the crossover design. I will also make a nice member discount on it for anyone that's interested. PM me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
