Faster throttle response?

I have a 00 911 Carrera all stock. I do not know if this is normal for porsches but the power starts kicking in at around 3500rpm's. I would like it to kick in at high 2's not high 3's.

How can I make that possible?
Any recommendations?

Coming from the high performance Mustang world, I understand the 2500 - 3000 rpm pull. But, this is a Porsche. They were made to rev and pull at a higher rpm (3,000+). If my memory serves me right, the former redlines at 6,500 rpm, and the latter redlines at 8,000 rpm. It's all relative. In my opinion: Rev your P-car higher, and save a few bucks.

By searching flash I consistently hear (I don't have one) that the combo of flash and muffler brings the most power. I do have the fabspeed intake and I think it does add a very small amount, but that may just be the cool sucking sound from the engine above 5K rpms? Good luck, let us know what you decide. I've heard softronic is good / see below. I've also heard fabspeed mufflers and speedtech mufflers sound good with good results.

Thats right!!! I agree with Dan here!! He is officially open for business now and is taking orders but most importantly the GREAT Customer Service is second to none!!!! To all who ask about me feeling the difference. Let me just say this it's not turbo nor is it a super charger and we all know what a stock car feels like right? It's definitely not stock for sure!! The throttle response is quicker and you can feel it pulling more also. Everyone is gonna give their own opinion here on the flash but one thing is for sure how Dan & Scott took care me its not opinion it was the fact!! The fact that they didn't bail out on me!!!!!

Unfortunately, you're not describing throttle response. You are describing the power curve. It sounds like you want more low-rpm torque. Not going to happen. These win races all over the world but you do it in the proper rpm range. Down shift or keep it between 3 & 4 thousand rpm. But, it's off to the track. First day this season at High Plains.

If you was increased throttle response, you could always try a Sprint Booster. I've never tried one, but I know many members here have tried them...

do the fister mufflers, Cats, Plenum and flash . The car will rev quickly and ohhh the sound. Coming from 15+ years of small block fords, the Porsche sounds awesome! It pulls pretty hard too.

What octane are you using? Try using shell 93V-Power gas. And add a bottle of octane booster. When I do this my Porsche feels much quicker.

The best thing you can do to improve throttle response is to install a set of Hi-Flow cats. We offer two 996 Hi-Flow cat styles that work very well - conventional and X-Pipe (997 X-Pipe shown below, 996 looks the same). A high flow cat eliminates a lot of the blockage caused by the OEM cats and allows the engine to run fresher and unrestrained. You can feel improved throttle response.

If you're asking about the Sprint Booster it only works with "fly by wire" electronic throttle... not sure when that started on the 996 but I believe a 1999 is still cable operated.
Yes I think your correct. It will not work on a 1999.

Ok so headers and exhaust, then a flash? And that should get me a faster throttle response? Do i need to install cats? I mean besides the point of not passing emissions?
