Short Shift Kit Install...Surprise?

Well, I finally set aside some time today to install the B&M SSK and EVO Linkage. I get everything opened up to find what, but another short shifter already there. Anyone recognize this?

Since I was in there, and this kit used plastic fittings and stock linkage, I decided to go ahead and change it anyway. The new stuff is dialed in but I am disappointed that after all that work, I did not get to enjoy a shorter throw.

Oh well, off to the next project, maybe suspension.

The console was really not a big deal. The instructions that came with the B&M were spot on. You should be able to find those online pretty easily. I am guessing they will apply to most kits out there. Be sure to mark the cables and if you're replacing the shift linkage, be sure to make it the same length as the stock. I took mine for a test drive before I put everything back together.

Let us know how it goes.

So you bought a short-throw shifter........ to replace your short-throw shifter? That's rich.

I know, crazy, right. Well...as the third owner of the car, I did not realize the shifter was in fact a short throw until I opened her up. Frightening to think what the OEM shifter must have been like if I thought the short throw had too much travel in it. :-/ At least with this change I have replaced some of that plastic with aluminum.

I'm gonna take a guess and say Agency Power SSK but I'm not by my computer to verify.

Hey alpine. Yes, I verified from RennList that it is in fact OEM, and further that it is the SSK they used in the GT3. I'll hang on to it just in case. Thanks for the info!

I have noticed a difference. The B&M seems notchier, mostly in third. Not a big deal, but the B&M does not feel as smooth as the OEM. I'm keeping the OEM to change out later on.
