New Owner 996 C2, pic

Today I became the owner of a 2001 996 C2 Lapis Blue Tiptronic. 40k miles, very nice condition, all maint is up to date. I got a 6 mo warranty with Easy Care, so far I'm loving my new whip. I came from a BMW 135 I custom ordered and that has been my baby for 2-1/2 yrs. But to help lower my payments, fund a kitchen for my house, (and wanting a porsche), the bmw sadly had to go. I never thought in a million years I would own anything from porsche... It still hasnt hit me yet...

Thanks to all the contributors to this forum for information helping me ask the right questions.

I'm a photographer also, so expect plenty more pix to come (this was w my iphone).

SOLD - 2009 135i

Welcome to the club. What's Tampa like this time of year? If I were ever to move back to the USA, I'd love to be in Florida, and the 996 seems like a great car to have there.

Congrats

As a former Bimmer owner and a 2-time Porsche owner, let me say with confidence that you have definitely moved up. Congrats on a great looking car!

Thanks for the comments, I'm really enjoying the car. Man it handles way better than my 135i, it has that gokart/racecar feel with a pinch of prestige.

Thanks for the clear side marker link, I'll def be ordering them. I just did a full detail, gotta get some pix.

Nice. Same color combination and year as mine (also tip). Are your wheels 18" or 17"?

Says the guy with pumpkins in his avatar photo... Sorry it had to be said.

Hind, congrats and welcome to the club! It really is a great feeling isn't it?

I'm local in St. Pete, and try to stay somewhat active with the local groups. I am thinking about checking out the Wed. night meet in Tampa next week depending on location. Looks like a lot of BMW's so it would be good to have another one of our German cousins there.

That pic was taken the day we received it. We had a shoot already setup for our Volkswagen side and decided to throw the 997 in for a couple shots. Wearing clears now.
