Wing vs. stock setup

Read message on other board about stk. spoiler used in up position by choice in city driving. Curious, without the intention to p/o anyone who has wing setup. If your not a turbo,gt3,or hot setup, super charged, do you feel it looks a little posser, jmho, wings should be earned, opinions.

I think it's a matter of personal preference - much like an aero kit, or any other mod that has aesthetic as well as performance appeal.

west coast is infamous around these parts
The reality of this is that on the street none of this is really relevant no matter which car you are driving, it is all personal preference

I got told off the other day for having a wing by a guy in a pickup truck who was not carrying construction material.

It is somewhat poser.

I wasn't trying to insult anyone just curious, I'm still running cards on spokes so I don't have to change out exhaust.

Its everywhere:
Hummers with 22 inch chrome wheels and 8 shocks that never see even a gravel driveway, Lowered pick ups that cant carry anything anymore
So...if you want a big *** wing, go for it. At least that wont slow you when you do press the gas pedal on the freeway!

It's still a 911... It's not like you have some 10 year old Honda Civic with a Kragen bolt on aluminum wing. I don't see what the fuss is all about?

If you, or anyone, wants to change their wheels, add a wing, change the exhaust, change steering wheel, add carbon fibre accents - or anything else - do it. It's your car. It's no one's business what you do to improve, degrade or modify your car. Half of the people who would rag on someone for doing something to their car, have done something as goofy to their own vehicle as that which they are knocking.

I agree, it's no bodies business,I was just curious, but this whole thing has me reconsidering my curb feelers.

Curb feelers are the best, they work just like vortex generators

I just recently added the GT2 decklid and wing to match my front end piece and i'm on the fence about liking it. With all of the engine mods, having the snorkel inlet directly to the filter, I can say that the car feels a bit faster on the big end of the band and at 70mph feels more stable with the added downforce, so to say that daily driving wont benefit would be a false statement, IMHO.

I really like the smooth line of the rear decklid without anything on it, but it was a choice i made and hope it grows on me. I get plenty of compliments and one person made a crappy comment, but he was driving a Maxima with "racing" wheels. go figure!

At the end of the day, Its a Porsche 911 that runs 12's.... Boo-Ya!
