Great job on the write up and attention to detail. The lights look great on your car, but I am not so sure how it would look with other colors, or with the factory trim. Looks great either way, thanks for the post!

holy crap i just did this diy.

Your diy makes it look somuch easier than it actually is.

spent 1 hr of baking and prying apart the headlights. Actually needed to use a lot of force.

Tools used:
pocket knife
Fork (handle topry apart)
Flat file (to pry apart)
Chisel (best tool forprying apart).

I think i just finished the hardest part which was opening the headlights., :"[

Did you have any problems with condensation or moisture getting into the headlights after doing this? I am planning on doing this soon. was taking out all the hardware and wirings hard? or is just screws holding it together. Thanks in advance

no condensation,

If you take my headlights out of the car; you can tell that theyve been tampered with. alot of the plastic backing is damaged. the prying apart really was a PITA.

the total dyi took me like 8 hours.

Just my advice; buy some black sillicone and try not to get the inside of the lens dirty. I got finger prints on the inside and thought i needed headlight restoration. Turns out its just crap on the inside thats making my lgihts foggy now

No condensation here !

Taking out the hardware is not hard at all, its pretty straight forward once you pop the headlight out.

Saibot, You can try to wet sand and put a layer of clear coat on to give the lens a shine so foggy wont be notice as much? Ive done this on my S2000 when i painted them black and forgot to clean the lens lol. it helped abit.

Wow, I love this idea.
I'm not a big fan of all the chrome in the head lights.

Thanks,
Definitely has been sometime, however the mod and seal is holding up great, i drove it in heavy rain for a few days and there wasn't no sign of condensation what so ever!

Do you still have the car? After all this time, how's it holding up? I'm thinking about doing this to my lights too. I've got a silver Turbo and think it'd look good on it. I need to do a full headlight restoration first though, but maybe it'd be easier to do once the light are apart. I'm also thinking about adding the 4point DRL's like the 991's have. Thanks for the write up! I wish someone made them or sold them like this so I don't have to worry about messing up my stock lights. I guess I can always buy another set lol
