Track damage Insurance

Hi Folks I signed up for HP driving school up in Mont Tramblant Canada. This is not a DE or other event. Just a driving school with Jack russle HP driving of course. My question is about damage insurance for the 996. Thoughts?

If you are driving your own car I would have to believe it would be worth the investment.

it depends on how your insurance policy is worded. if you look at the section Exclusions, you will find out. high speed, or track events, have to be specifically mentioned.

One of our shop employees runs track insurance, last I recall the policy he went with insured up to 60k and a deductible of about 1500. He used Great American Insurance group: http://www.ontrackinsurance.com/index.aspx

Read YOUR policy. Different companies have different wording in different states. Some of the same companies will have different wording in different states. Do NOT ask your agent. NOTHING they can or can't tell you will ever hold up in court.
Some compaines policy wording states your are NOT covered once your car is at a track PERIOD. That includes the parking lot.

I always get track insurance....have not been able to get my regular insurance to cover nor have I found another carrier. FOr a 996 you are looking at about 200 bucks with PCA discount.

I PROMISE YOU THAT WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE EVER DONE, Track Insurance with PCA. I never thought I would have been in an accident, but it happened. Had I not had track insurance, I would have been stuck with a bill with $42k. For roughly $200 for my 99 996 was totally insured. Long story short, The insurance company paid out about $30k when it was all said and done.
