Drag Racing Advise

As posted in my VR996CT post. My beast is all together and putting out some amazing numbers but my 1/4 Mile ET is horrible. I know 80% of it is me.

I feel my problem is stock 225 and 265 tires can handle 500hp and also Im not shifting the car in its proper power band.

The best I ran was 13.7 @106mph with massive wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear. Im losing well over 1 second due to wheel spin and shifting.

Im attaching my Dyno Sheet and some videos and appreciate some advise on getting me in the low/mid 12's where the car belongs.

Stephan, our tires are made to stick to the corners and not the strip so well. Go with 285 or 295 on the back for more contact patch if you're getting wheel spin. Is your traction control off? Are you sure your clutch isnt slipping with all that power?

Yes working on a set of track wheels and tires. The clutch is fine, I'm running a AASCO Light Weight Flywheel and Sachs SRE Clutch rated to 500HP/500TQ.

I need to get out 2nd and 3rd way faster, like at 5500 rpms, then let 4th gear carry me across the line at full boost.

I tried launching with and without PSM. I believe in my car PSM may interfer with launchs? I know it applies braking to slipping wheels but doesn't it also reduce engine power?

^^^yes absolutely, mine has and will cut out power if it feels slippage off the line. Turn it off launch at 2500 - 3000 rpm and ease into it in first. Key is to get to the power as soon as you can. With the c4 you should be able to get full traction in second gear, speed shift to third and then forth. Play with your launches and rpms, i find these cars do not like and are not meant for hard off the line clutch drops...its not a Mustang!
Go on a cooler day too, as I said 105mph traps, something is up becuase guys have run 108-110 in 996 cars with just exhaust bolt ons and a tune.

I need to get into 4th gear by 1/8 mile or so because 3rd gear is maxed at 7200 RPM @ 106mph when I pass the 1/4.

If I get into 4th gear fast, the 502hp should get me across the line at 120mph+

Drop your rear psi 10 lbs (wider contact patch), and raise your front psi 10 lbs (less roll resistance). An old Mustang drag strip trick.

Drag racing a 911 does not "seem" like the ideal situation.
You want a faster 1/4 buy a Turbo 911 or Mustang and massage the engine :/

Dropped my tire pressure 10psi and got 13.39 @ 105mph. Thats the best I can do on stock tires. I have SOOOOO much wheel spin even if I feather it. Im going to have to go to 19X8 and 19X12 with 315 on the rear to keep traction so I can get in the 12's.

Yeah I don't know what is going on? I have too much wheel spin and hop in 1st and 2nd gear. Today I'm going to test some different numbers like 40-80, 60-120...
