Thinking of getting Recaro bucket seats. What 5 or 6 pt. harness BRAND to get?

Also where to mount? Back seats mount, Harness bar, Roll cage?

 

Sparco and MOMO are the two best companies. Sparco is what most race drivers use. You can mount them to the seat belt bolts in the rear seats. If you want to make it real race then rip out the rear seats and put in a role cage and mount it to there. You have to watch out when mounting them to the rear seat bolts, if your to get into an accident the harness bring bolted lower then your shoulders will cause the harness to pull down on your shoulders and can actually break your back. I have never seen this happen but, have heard about it more than once.

 

sparco, sabelt, takata , willans , recaro if u can get them and status are the best i have seen at the track. i would never run momo harnesses.

 

Recaro is the brand. There are other racing seats mentioned above but Recaro seats are great.

 

recaro also makes harnesses, i believe they are sold under willans they are super rare and u have to call recaro to ask permission to have willans sell you a set. i believe they are 700-1000 each. they are like the holy grail of seat harnesses for the people in the know.

 

Is there a harness bar for the 996?

I don't want to mount it on the rear seat bolts.

And I'm not shopping for a roll cage just yet.

Schroth belts are awesome.

I would go with Harness bar and powder coat it to match the exterior of the car. Check out this M3 we did.
