Just got my C4S and it passed the PPI with flying colors. The clutch is strong and everything works great and it performed really well on the 400+ mile trip back home. I have a mechanic but he's more familiar with BMWs. Nothing wrong with my car but I'm thinking about getting the clutch replaced because it's still on the original even though it's still good. Plus, these d@mn I-M-S threads keep coming up on every search I do! Can't help but think about it getting it done at the same time just so I can enjoy the car. Anyone know of a good shop in the area???

Heading in to Exclusive Car Care in Manassas for IMS,RMS,Clutch etc on Friday. Got a really competitive quote! I'll post again with details after it's completed with a review. Glad I'm getting this stuff done now instead of throwing money at suspension and wheels first. Based on my maintenance records...I should be good to go for a while now. This was the only item not addressed before my ownership. Of course....the BIG $$$ item.

 

Sooooo scratch that "competitive quote". Final bill ended up being in the ballpark with the others. Amazing how you get the car in and suddenly you are hit with additional cost not listed on the quote. To top it off....my clutch was fine, IMS,RMS was fine as well. I know you can't put a price on peace of mind, but I'm struggling with thinking I wasted money on this whole IMS thing. I'm sure it's better for me in the long run, but this was a pretty expensive oil change seeming that everything on my car was fine to begin with.

 

How does a price jump without prior approval? In the state of virginia, they can only increase the total 10% without approval from you.... Just an FYI....
