Mirror driver side broken

Some ****** busted my mirror in the parking structure at work last night. There are no scratches on the car and the motor behind it work just fine. I would like to replace it my self. No need to go to the Pshop, they charge a minimum of 1 hour work for little things like this which is already $165.

Has any one ever replaced a side mirror before?

It is very simple.

What color and year? I have a set in ocean metallic blue from my 2001 I'd sell.

Cheers

sorry to resurrect an old thread but I need information on how to pop out the mirror. Anyone done this? They say the mirror simply pops out when you use a plastic pry tool or your fingers. I'm afraid to break the clips and plastics since my car is already 13 years old. Any tips will be greatly appreciated?

You wont break the clips. Push the mirror in with your finger on the side closest to the door and pull the mirror out from the other side just do it carefully and slowly once you have your fingers under the mirror and start pulling. The clips will give out, be careful not to pull the mirror out after the clips give away there is a sensor in the back and those wires are not so long. Those are actually more fragile then the clips. Use your fingers no other tools necessary.

It may be the perfect time to order the european convex mirror glass to get better side visibility since you need to replace the glass anyway.

thanks so much for this tip!

"...be careful not to pull the mirror out after the clips give away there is a sensor in the back and those wires are not so long..."

Are you referring to the 2 wires directly plugged at the back of the mirror which powers the heat for the mirrors?
