ya. Last I check inflation was at 1.3% which corresponds to about $21 over the year, not $400. One thing tho, I thought the LNE solution came out recently. Was it available a year ago or did they just put in another Porsche OEM part?

LNE IMS has been out for quite a while / years. As far as pricing to get them put in. I don't know anyone who just charges a flat rate. It depends on how much they want the job, their work load, if they're discounting to get your future business, etc. It is a big job and labor intensive. I've talked to Alden at Flintworks and he is a stand up guy. He explains the job, gives fair bids and wants your repeat business. This is the kind of guy you want doing your IMS job. I recommend him highly.

Replaced IMS & RMS but not clutch

I had read enough IMS failure horror stories that I felt compelled to have the original IMS bearing on my '04 40th anniversary edition replaced with the LN ceramic bearing. Since the car had a little over 69K miles I thought that I'd replace the clutch, too. When I took the car in to have both of those items replaced (as well as the RMS), I got a call from the repair shop and they told me that they'd done the IMS and RMS replacement, but in good conscience they couldn't replace the clutch and/or flywheel because they were in phenomenal condition. They said that the clutch disc measured 8.27mm and a new disc measures 9mm, and that they don't usually replace them until they're at 7.5mm. They also said that the dual mass flywheel was in great shape. For what it's worth, the original RMS was starting to be compromised but the original IMS bearing was in good shape. At least I now have peace of mind relative to the IMS issue.
