Clutch Replacement with IMS Retrofit Kit

Hi,

Even though I have about 40% left on my clutch, I am thinking of replacing it and also getting the IMS Retrofit Kit installed. I was wondering how much more would it cost to have the IMS Retrofit installed when doing the clutch at the same time? I have already replaced my engine due to an IMS failure and the new engine already has an upgraded IMS bearing. I just want to be proactive and have the IMS bearing replaced while the clutch is out. Been traumatized once, not looking forward to a second time....

if you have a LN bearing in the IMS I would wait till the clutch is done....how did you estimate the 40% remaining clutch life?

Thanks. I just had the 2 year major service done. My mechanic test drove the car and told me that it was 40%. He was also the one who installed the clutch the last time.

When you say "clutch is done", do you mean when the clutch is worn out?

I had my clutch, RMS and the LN IMS retrofit done for $2100 in April.

Thanks. Looks like ill be doing it as well! Does the $2100 include the IMS Retrofit kit?

Was that price from the dealer?

Zeeee, I'm thinking in having mine done soon at the dealer but I have been dragging my feet. The pedal is a little stiff but nothing else. The dealer technician told me I was going to need to replace it soon... This was at Pacific Porsche!

Dealer charges too much. I get it done from an indy. Same work, half price. The only time I get work done by the dealer on my cars is when they are under warranty.

What I meant by the clutch being "done" is at the first sign of clutch slippage... as in the rpm increase without the car accelerating...

Who did your clutch, etc. in San Jose?
