Clutch Replacement with IMS Retrofit Kit

Hi,

Even though I have about 40% left on my clutch, I am thinking of replacing it and also getting the IMS Retrofit Kit installed. I was wondering how much more would it cost to have the IMS Retrofit installed when doing the clutch at the same time? I have already replaced my engine due to an IMS failure and the new engine already has an upgraded IMS bearing. I just want to be proactive and have the IMS bearing replaced while the clutch is out. Been traumatized once, not looking forward to a second time....

TIA

if you have a LN bearing in the IMS I would wait till the clutch is done....how did you estimate the 40% remaining clutch life?

Thanks. I just had the 2 year major service done. My mechanic test drove the car and told me that it was 40%. He was also the one who installed the clutch the last time.

When you say "clutch is done", do you mean when the clutch is worn out?

Thanks.

That is a great price! The kit alone is just $619.

Was that price from the dealer?

Zeeee, I'm thinking in having mine done soon at the dealer but I have been dragging my feet. The pedal is a little stiff but nothing else. The dealer technician told me I was going to need to replace it soon... This was at Pacific Porsche!

Dealer charges too much. I get it done from an indy. Same work, half price. The only time I get work done by the dealer on my cars is when they are under warranty.

What I meant by the clutch being "done" is at the first sign of clutch slippage... as in the rpm increase without the car accelerating...

I am also in San Jose. Seems like a reasonable price for that work here. I would appreciate the name of the shop.

Thanks in advance.
