Getting a C4S 991... thanks guys, it's been fun!
Well it's officially done... just sold my baby ('04 996 C4S) and am expecting my new 991 C4S in Feb/March.
Hardest thing I've done in a while (letting go of my 996), I absolutely loved that car!
Just wanted to say thanks for all the posts, comment and banter.
It's been a pleasure!
Here's some pics and a vid of the 991 C4S.
Cheers guys!
Sid.
ps. I've sold most of the 996 "stuff" but for those interested I do have a set of winter tires left https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ires-sale.html

I love the Yeckell & Hyde ride of the 991, it's not as "connected and gritty as the 996 but she was getting old, the horrific roads were starting to take their toll (on both the car and me!).
That said she's a real looker and I spend over 40K in custom work on her over the years...
Time for a new 911... a new blank canvas, or should I say "black hole".
Cheers!

Congrats man!
I think you just about maxed out your 996 so good to start over again.
Who can't be jealous of a cool guy with a cool(now even cooler) ride..., oh and the girls can't help either. Lol
I vote the first mod for your 991 should be the "Gas or ***" bumper sticker. Lol

Thanks Brando!
Gotta tell ya though my beloved 996 was a tough to let go off...
Man I loveeeeed that car!
LOL
Thanks for the kind words my friend!
Yeah I skipped the 997 gen because my 996 was an ongoing project of passion, done exactly to my personal tastes.
But like you said, there was really nothing left to do so time for a new clean slate and the 991 C4S cab has got my name on it.
That said, I came reeeeeeeeal close to getting an AMG SLS roadster!
Happy I stayed in the Porsche family though.
Cheers!

Black on black C4S cab with SC, PSE, red seatbelts, embossed headrest, premium package with 14-way power seats, 20" carrera classic wheels and a few other things.
Total cost 157K with a 3% discount and taxes comes to 180K... that's in Canada so the price is about 10% higher than in the US.
All and all a pretty steep price for "a middle of the pack" 911 but after test driving everything from Aston's to Maserati GT-S, Ferrari 430, AMG SLS, Audi R8 etc.. in the end though I found out "Porsche, there is no substitute"!

But I'll take some time to get acquainted with my new ride before doing any real performance mods.
That said, I am putting a BMC air-filter and 200 cell cats...and a Techart front lip + rear valance for now.
Oh and of course adding some red leather accents in the cabin (as well as Loyds floor mats with embossed logo and red edging).
Seriously thinking about getting 21" Techart formula III wheels but we'll see.
I'm looking forward to many custom project as products become available for the new 991 wide-body.
Cheers!
