thinking of getting a 99 questions!!!!
As I said before your two best friends are the Carfax and the PPI.
Car looks good man, and me also being new to Porsche am interested in threads like these. I am relieved to see that 92k isn't much to worry about on these cars.
OP I should also point out that I actually was considering this car myself! Only difference is you are ready to pull the trigger and I am not, I am still deep down waiting for the one I REALLY want...a C4, aero package, maybe some mods...

92K..think about this, the car is 13 years old therefore it's only had 7076 miles per year average, not bad.
Have you considered a salvage titled 996. There are many great buys on these Porsche's with very little cosmetic or theft recovery damage.
The "age" combined with the cost of factory parts forces most insurance companies to salvage these cars with very little damage (make sure no frame/suspension damage or rear end impacts that may have affected the engine/drive train etc).
You can save 50%+ on the initial cost typically with lower miles and buy the OEM used replacement parts for pennies on the dollar!

Got the car fax and there seems to be no indiscrepancies in mileage or any accidents reported. Seems to spent most of its life in cali and washington. Bounced owners a bunch of times but im not too concerned with that ...lets see whats next
Just get the PPI for peace of mind, good job!
Markie, in all my years on Porsche forums I have never told anyone this, BUTT I am not sure you will like this car better than the car you have now, & I assume like. 1999 996's have too many drawbacks for me to list here, search for info. I don't know what the price is on the car you are after, if it is cheap I'm sure the car warrants the price. Take your time, winter is coming, temps & prices are dropping. If you really want a Porsche, I guarantee you better cars are out there.
