cabby top lubrication

I posted this quite a while back and never got a good answer, so apologies for reposting. My top sounds like Dracula's coffin opening up. I have tried some teflon dry-lube and it didn't seem to have any real affect. Is there a procedure somewhere or a tech bulletin? I looked it up in the FSM and couldnt find anything about lubrication. 2000 996 cabrio 6-speed if that matters.

My driver's side clamshell cover squeaks like a mouse in a vise. I've squirted enough silicon lube in there for an android's orgy, but it still makes that noise. I'd be curious for any info, too.

@Kromdom -- how does the fluid level affect the squeaking? My noise, at least, seems to indicate a plastic on metal sort of squeak.
