PSE question?

Hello, my best friend has finally joined the 911 club after a long search. He purchased a 2004 C4S that is equipped with the PSE system. Instead of having a button for the exhaust, it is on at low speeds and turns off at high speeds (or rpm). Is this common? If so is it an easy fix to add the button, I've seen them on sale from various web sites.

Thanks guys!

I have heard of some cars with PSE having the "automatic" variety, with no control switch in the cabin. I don't think it's really that unusual. I'm not sure how hard it would be to add a control switch. It would probably be easier to mod it so that the PSE is "open" all the time. I know several people have done that...

The standard PSE settings require it to close within a specified speed range to meet European noise standards. It should open up again at higher speed.
