Question heated seat not working.

hello.
I have a 2002 911 and looks like my driver seat bottom heating element is not working. i had a tech guy looking for the problem and we found that the heating pad is short and we need to replace it. Can i use one on the aftermarket pads or i have to order oem ? Thank you for your input.

I'm not sure about aftermarket options, but I purchased a replacement element from Sunset a few years ago. I think it was about $100. It took me a little time to get things apart and replace it, but overall it wasn't too bad. I suspect if you brought it to an upholstery shop with a replacement element they could do it in less than an hour.

I haven't heard of any aftermarket options ether, I know they offered two different heating elements for the 996. With the option code IXSU it used the heating element 99665310502 which was special upholstery which lowered the seat by 10mm. The standard heating element used 99665310501. The $85 is just for the bottom of the seat heating element and does not include the foam, just the heating element. If you also need the back one that part number is 99652153101 and ether of these will work with the 14 way power seats.
