Porsche 996 - Exhuast noise increase

I recently purchased a Porsche 996 c4s. I want a louder low end throaty noise in my exhaust but I do not have a sport's exhaust button. Is there some way I can make it more throaty without this button?

Thanks

Buy some sport mufflers. I'd recommend Fister, Cargraphics or Fabspeed.

I have Fisters on mine. They are a modification of my existing mufflers. They are louder, but not too loud. They are also very inexpensive compared to other options.

We have two options for the 996 - One is a replacement sport muffler that takes the place of your OEM muffler and the other is a replacement sport muffler with sound valves, which allow it to go from sport to loud mode at the touch of a button.

Sport Muffler

I did the 'Fister Mod' as well and love it, tame below 4000 rpms and get's pretty aggressive above 4000 rpms.

Fisters. Great result for a fraction of the price -- I felt the same way when I bought my C2, I felt like it was missing sound wise. Had the Fister/Gundo Hack done, and haven't regretted it since. No drone at any speed, sounds downright mean when you jump on it, and tame when you are just cruising around...and that's exactly what I wanted.

Cheers,

DS

I did Fabspeed 200 cell cats and Fister exhaust - love the sound it makes now.

i run the original Porsche Sport mufflers with a button inside to switch from loud to normal. Do the Fister mufflers work with the original Porsche hardware for switching sound options ?

No. The Fisters are essentially a partial muffler bypass pipe that is welded between the muffler inlet and outlet plumbing. There's no valve like PSE.

I run the fabspeed maxflo mufflers and fabspeed maxflo intake, I love the sound especially in the higher RPMs the thing screams.

Yup I have them on mine. They sound great! And I've had no noise issues when I run at noise limited tracks (I.e. laguna Seca 90 db limit)
