My buddy has the Monte Carlo that was done on the show, and WOW......supercharged V8 with 500HP to the wheels....And the workmanship is amazing...that is one hot car...Chip Foose is the man.

while the car is nice, i'll be suprised if it gets serious money. I've seen a few of the Overhaulin' cars up close and they just aren't high caliber.

I see one daily in my garage at the office....the paint work is exceptional...the detail is amazing, the interior is clean, the engine and drivetrain are top notch and the brakes and suspension are amazing....not my personal cup of tea, but being a car nut, this car is HOT....What about the ones you saw were not high caliber? I am sure they have better cars and worse cars, maybe my buddy lucked out and got a good one...He has had it for about a year and it looks like the day he got it back, and he drives it daily.

 

I wondered if someone would try to sell their car once it was overhauled. Personally I think its kind of sad and it proves once again that no matter how much something means to you, money talks and all else walks!

 

Exactly...they all are saying, I'll never sell....etc...then you see them for sale...

 

The guy's got ***** to sell that car after all that free labor/parts.

 

I can imgaine selling a car from MTV's "Pimp my ride" but not from overhaulin.

well for one, a lot of the cars aren't running properly.

The paint jobs are all quickies, they are far from being exceptional IMO (I should know cause a good friend of mines shop has done a few and i've seen a few others). They look good from a distance but once you are up close you see it, but what do you expect from a car painted in a day. I mean the cars are nice, they use great parts, but everything else isn't touched up as I feel a car like this should be. don't get me wrong it's great what they are doing and it's unreal for the time they have. I've just been a little suprised by some of the things i've seen. Rust still on cars, etc.

Just read this guys description and it tells a little, even he says the car has flaws. Which isn't a bad thing, they just aren't high caliber cars.

btw, that's sweet the monte is your friends, it's one of my favorites!
