Maf ?
Maf ?
Hey there every one i got a quick question. I got a 03 carrera that i just recently bought and i got a new maf sensor i went and plugged it in and now my idle is really rough. its stays about 1100rpm but every now and again it will almost stall out. But when i unplug the sensor my idle is smooth. any suggestion will be appreciated i just out of ideas
hmmm ok... ill double check the install but i think the screw holes only match up in one way and could it still be bad even if you can see the changes between having it plugged in or not the car runs strong with it on but idles like crap
Sound like the car is running rich, which the MAF should correct.
I would recommend pressure testing the system to check for a vacuum leak. A large leak will give you a rough idle even if the MAF is good, and by unplugging it the computer does not have a proper air reading so it runs off of the ECU's default settings, thus causing it to smooth out. Hope this helps!

yeah it only lbolts up one way but i was told to check the plug there is a way to twist it around and im also going to check some intake boot i think its called also i think my maf is wrong. the neck where the plug is at looks to long and its not reaching the clips. Going to check it on sunday again hopefully it will fix my problems so i can daily drive it again.
