My friend was brave and let me Dip his Boxster's wheels gold. We went with gold because he has a dark brown interior and top. I was nervous doing the gold, but i think it came out great, and makes the car stand out more.

How hard is it to peel off you don't want the look anymore?

The more coats you put on the thicker it is and it will come off in one big piece when you want it to. It's like wrapping a car.

if you have a nice even thick coat it comes off quite easy...
when i did my H3 wheels i just stuffed paper napkins in the spokes to protect the brakes and sprayed away. after it dryed i just peeled the overspray off from the tires and it came off in almost one whole piece.

Now i don't ever think I would do it to the wheels on my porsche but if you see me with black HRE's ...LOL
But if i did ever do it I would never post about to tell ya'll guys to prevent the mockery!!

How far into the inside of the barrel did you spray dip the wheels. Thinking of doing this on my MY02 wheels. The barrels (inside rim) are very visible, especially the wider rears.

My concern is that when the barrels aren't coated in brake dust, it will look odd to have a bronze face, and then dull silver barrels.

I imagine it would take quite a bit of time to spray the barrel of each wheel completely.

Honestly,I think doing the inside of the wheels are a waste of time. Once they are on the car there is a shadow that really takes away the view of inside the wheel. Even if you had gold wheels that where gold all around, they would be black after a couple hundred miles.
