Removal:

Slip dental floss around the cap and gently tug. When you can, grip the edge of the cap with thumb and finger, then wiggle the plug side to side while GENTLY pulling.

Pull too hard on the cap and it will crack.

They should ease right out.

If you have any trouble, email me for another pair, no charge!

I wish I could use bumper plugs in NY, no plate =ticket. Mine fell of a couple of weeks ago, that same day I was ticketed. Porsche now has a fix for the 996 front plate (easy falling off) problem, they substitute a 928 metal frame that seems to attach more securely.

trovan,

I recently just found out that a friend of mine (Brian) bought your Midnight Blue M3. That car is nice. We plan to take pics of it along with my newly modded Pcar.

interesting, 3 years of driving without the front plate and i finally got a written warning for it last weekend...

probably was a variety of factors...

end of the month quota filling time,
the cop was a few cars behind me, i was going 90% throttle through a tunnel with bypass pipes, and i had no plate.

this cop was a rookie supervised by his big boss. the dude took for ever to write my ticket, then the wind blew my registration and insurance from his hand. he had to run after them, and was shaking a little when came back with the ticket. it was quit comic, but still didn't make me like him any more!

anyway, please someone have a frame for me to borrow. i never got it when i bought the car, and i am not sure if i can get one from the parts dept, but will try tomorrow.

Does the 928 plate bracket look any better or stick out any less? Any photos?

Here is what I did when the same thing happened to me - I used double sided tape, got a cop at Starbucks ready to take off to sign the ticket. I removed it the second he left... No problems since then. In fact, I removed my back plate as well, like that I can leave my red tow hook on...
