I just had the Gas filler door emergency pull ring replaced and the Mechanic said he had to remove the evap canister to do the job. The car runs fine but now every time I start it it blows a big cloud of blue smoke. I know flat engines do this now and again but it is doing it every time now. Is there any relation to the work done? Is this going to be the norm now? No blue smoke on hard acceleration or deceleration. Is it something else maybe? Bumming out. The last time I owned a smoker it was a 58 Belair????

 

Blue smoke would indicate it's oil burning. Check your Air Oil Separator, this is a common Porsche failure. I would suggest it has nothing to do with the work performed, just a timing coincidence.
