This is for a 2001 996 C4.

I am due for service in next month or so. I don't know if this is normal or something serious to look into.

The gauge indicates you are running at about 215F. This is common for the 3.4 engine while driving around town in hot weather.

Not at all, just what is considered normal operating temp ...first hot days here when I got the 2000 I thought it was running hot and called my SA and he told me that was normal..when I got my 2003 it ran dead center and that is considered normal...nothing to worry about..hope all is well

If you are concerned about it, buy the center radiator. It will make the car run cooler....But, it is running normal, the 3.4L ran hotter than the 3.6L.
