New wheels

Hi, my 2003 targa that I got recently came with aftermarket 18'' wheels, some are suggesting to upgrade to 19''. I am concern because where I live the roads are not exactly race track type and Porsche did not have a 19'' option for that car at the time. Any suggestions?

If the rounds are rough, I would stay with the 18's. Going to 19's would require a shorter tire section height which would make you wheels more prone to failure. Nonetheless, plenty of 19's on Ebay. Good luck.

Stick with 18s. There are plenty of great options in the proper sizes.

Agreed with both of the comments above, stick with the 18's. Now lets see these after market wheels

Hi guys, thanks for the advise. I will stick to 18'' and will replace the tires, the previous owner put tires that in my opinion are too big and are making the car unstable above 125 mph. It has 285/35 at the rear and 235/40 in the front. I think it calls for 285/30 in the back and 225/40 in the front. What you all think?

Ps I will send a picture later!

I would suggest that you stick with the 18s. Tires for the 19" are more expensive and the side wall is smaller, increasing the negative impact pot holes, and other dangers on our US streets present. I have 19s on my 2000 C4, and I have decided to go 18s when the tires are toast.
