Installed the DEPO LED tail lights on my 996

I bit the bullet and used my slush fund (shhhhh, don't tell the boss!) to buy these DEPO LED tail lights for my 2000 996. It truly was plug and play with the only mod being that I moved a resistor that is supposed to get hot sometimes. It took about 10 minutes start to finish.

I posted a couple of pics including one with the old and new lights installed together to really see the change.

I'm not affiliated with DEPO or anyone else, just posting for those interested. I also posted a video on Youtube showing them working through the different functions.

I would have waited until dark for the pics, but I was excited!

I got mine through Revmo in a group
buy for $575 I believe. My wife even likes them Your car looks awesome with them. Nothing beats a red 911, and the white looks great too. Definately one the best mods for these cars, really freshens up the rear end...

I have these lights too on a black C2. does anyone know if there's a way to smoke them ? Could I just have a black tint wrapped over them ?

Those look great! I would love to have those smoked. I did do the light tint spray before and it turned out great on my old tail lights. Those look much better. So, add a resistor to avoid the dash light? Do the they sell the center lights to match.

I used dark light tint rattle can on my 99 Carrera. The lights show well through them.

This is the dark light tint. Still shows the lights well, but would go lighter next time. I did find a center light that is smoked LED as well now. No dash lights!
