Need Radio Help Please
Well, went home at lunch, turned the radio off then the AC (I like everything in the off position when the car is not running) then about 15 minutes later went back to leave turned the car on then turned the AC on and then the radio, but wait, no sound
Power is going to the radio as it works, shows the station changes from AM to FM to Cd etc..but no sound, nothing. Tried turning it off and on, shut the car down, then back on and still no sound. What could have happened?
Like I say the radio is on just no sound.
I have the Bose sound system.

You can try to unplug the amp (in the trunk) and leave it for a few minutes, then plug it back in. Sometimes this "reset" brings it back (for a while at least). Otherwise, it's usually time for a new amp.
Thanks, can you give me an idea of where the amp is? All I see is the CD unit.
Thanks, Jim

I'm thinking no, but may also check ignition switch? Make sure the key is turned all the way to the left. The electronics can get weird when the ignition switch is on it's way out. So start the car, and then manually turn the key to the right gently until you feel resistance. If suddenly your stereo is working perfectly again, it's the ignition switch. But in this case, it does sound like it is probably the amp.

Well, when I went out to leave work, it worked! And it worked all weekend. So I'll have to wait and see what happens next.

It may be time to get the amp fixed or replaced. I have the Bose system in my 02 4S and recently sent it to a company to get refurbished. The sound quality is better now than it has been for years.
Nice, where did you send it?
I have the Becker CR-220 and sent my amp and head unit to Becker in NJ for refurb. My head unit had been problematic since it was new, so I took care of both at the same time. Hopefully your only problem is with the amp. As mentioned above, you can find the amp in the trunk. You will see the air vents/slots where the amp is located.
It cost $225 for the amp refurb.

I also have the Bose system btw, plus nav and the 6 disc changer. Good luck with it!

I'll play the ol' wait and see game.
