Sorry but those would have no purpose or benefit if raining or snowing with your feet sliding around. That probably isn't an issue in sunny Arizona but anywhere else....

I live in Colorado Springs and those mats are great for winter!!! Easy to keep the snow, mud and junk off the carpet. I have no slipping issues with the mats.

My normal winter car is the Jaguar X-Type. The BBS Melbourne rims and Pilot Super Sport tires come off in this Saturday for the Winter rim/snow tire swap.

I was am very curious to hear from folks living in the snow belt on how these mats work. Are they scratch proof? Would look bad if they get scuffed up by footwear.

One of the first thing I looked into when I bought the car was Weathertech liners, but unfortunately, Weathertech does not seem to make any liners for the 996. I live in MA, will drive the car all year (unless we get one of our crazy *** blizzards in which case I will drive the truck), and would love to find a reliable solution for the carpets and interior.

If they are slippery, it can be solved by using some grip tape. You can get them at home depot - I use them on my motorcycle ramps and they last quite a while.

my Rennline metal floor mat looks pretty scuffed after one summer of daily driving use with dress shoes. I don't notice the scuff marks anymore and it has not been slippery at all.

I also have Weathertech 997 floor mats for winter which mostly fit, but the driver's side mat is not perfect

Thanks for sharing your personal experience with them. Do you have the aluminum/silver ones or the black ones? I heard the black ones are powder coated and maybe more scratch proof than the silver ones?

Can you please share a photo or two of your 997 weathertechs and how they fit in the 996? I would love to go that route (have weathertechs in all the other cars and love them).

I have the black rennline track mats, and they are not recommended with wet shoes. My Lloyd mats are Savannah, which is a very light brown or coco and are easily stained. The track mats protect my investment into the Lloyd Carrera 4 mats ($180).

I went ahead and ordered the black mats. I might get my tint/wrapper guy to wrap them in clear 3M clear bra material before I put them on. Will update,

I'm not so sure that wrapping them in a clear wrap is a good idea. I would think that getting in and out with the scuff of your shoes will wear the wrap out and scrape the **** out of them. Just a thought No matter, the mats are a good investment and protection......

Agree with you, the wraps may or may not hold up to feet and dress shoes and snow and crap. But it cannot hurt, right?

I got mine in yesterday. Shipping from Rennline was very quick - I paid for 2nd day, but got it next day. Don't mean to distract your thread OP, but wanted to share black on grey interior photos in case anyone is considering this combination.
