Factory Short Shift Kit
the factory kit is the same as the B&M, which is cheaper. The only difference is the factory comes with th ecomplete shifter housing, and the B&M modifies your current shifter housing. I had one in my Boxster, and it was notchy and required more effort to shift....it felt good though. I would go for the under car B&M shoft kit, adjustable and less notchy than the in car kit....
oem ssk
I went with the factory ssk and I am very pleased with it.
I also like the peice of mnd of it being a porsche part, in the event you blow your tranny up they cant' try to wiggle out of the warranty work because of the ssk being after market, and trust me they will try!!

Thx for the info guys. I think I'm going w/ the Factory SSK because it comes with a 2yr factory warranty. I just wanted to know if you there are any "side effects" with the SSKs - maintenance, performance, reliability issues, etc...???
I was hesitent about the under the car mount
So I ordered the factory one. It shifts perfect. Anything other than stock is better, but OEM is even better. Warranty shouldn't be an issue with dealer since this is the factory part. I have had it for 1 yr and I have taken car back and forth to dealer with no issues. YOu have made the right choice.
