Durametric Tool in Northern Va?

Anyone with a tool in the area? I need my airbag light reset. Will probably invest in one next month but would appreciate if someone could help me out! Thanks!

I tried to reply to your PM, but my post-count is too low and I'm not yet "priviledged" to send PM's. But you're on the right track: any dealer or shop with the Durametric Pro can reset the seatbelt light (IIRC, the Durametric Enthusiast kit doesn't have that capability).

Thanks Coloradocurt! Yeah... I'm going to check a few places tomorrow to see if they have the tool. Hopefully, it won't cost something crazy just to reset it.

I got my Durametric for under $300 from them. Well worth it.

I have a Pro and am willing to help out if we can work it out. I'm over near Dulles.

PM me and we'll try to work something out.

This tutorial ought to help you out:
http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/elec...functions.html
Go down to the second part of the "AIRBAG (POSIP) MODULE" section and it mentions clearing the fault code.
Although primarily a Boxster/Cayman site, Planet 9 is a great resource inasmuch as there's a lot of commonality with the 911's of this same vintage.

Thanks!!! I'll be in touch!

I called the German Auto Group in Springfield this morning and the guy said the airbag can't be reset with aftermarket seats. Said the sensors won't allow it? First time I've heard that.

By "work it out" I was referring to being able to get together

Though all I've done with it so far is reset my OCI on my 958.

You might as well disable that check which can be done through pst2 or Piwis tool. I have it disabled so I don't even need to plug in the wiring harness and it won't trigger the airbag light. I keep my seat connectors unplugged.

Just double-checking with you (or anyone else that has one) about the Durametric Enthusiast being used for this. I know that the link I posted shows how to use the Pro to turn off the seatbelt warning light in the case of aftermarket seats being used. But can the Enthusiast also do that, or as Sneaky_Pete posted, merely reset that after the seats are back in a stock configuration?

I think they are both the same exact thing. The Pro you can do unlimited cars with. The Enthusiast kit you can only do 3 cars/vin numbers.
