Sport Seat Back Refresh Qs

I have sport seats in my '04 and the driver's side seat back soft-touch material is scuffed. What have people done to refresh these? Painting is one option I've seen. Has anyone done a vinyl wrap on them? What about trying to restore the soft-touch material?

TIA!

Gonna be doing a vinyl wrap this summer as I cart around my kids in the back. Paint would've scratched too easily from their feet. As it stands now, I got the rear seat backs covered up with painters tape for now.

I replaced the leather "seat cover" with new leather. Takes time and the hands get tired from all the hog rings. You can add extra foam under as we'll with foam from a fabric store and glue it down, then contour the foam with an electric knife. Seats will be like new. I found a guy years ago who sold fabricated seat covers with colored stitching and even sewn in logos. the leather feels like my thick leather jacket now. It's a bit grippier to hold my rear in the seat too. He was in Europe. I can't remember who it was. The 300zx crew sells tons of these on ebay with outstanding materials. I bet one of those guys could fab you some new seat covers. Not expensive at all.

We're talking about sport seat backs. Nothing to do with leather.

Thanks for the great resource. But I'm talking about the hard backs on the sport seats.

Hmm, I didn't think of that. It can't be any less durable than the soft touch stuff already on there.

Has anyone Plastidip painted their soft touch interior trim?

Plastidip(at least the spray on) has shown to leave marks on the paint long term. After all, you do need to thin it out to spray it.
I wouldn't trust it on more fragile plastics if your seat backs are already in good condition and/or you're planning on returning them to stock at a later point to sell.

You would also need to keep your seats out for a good 1-2 weeks to let it cure fully and not stink up your interior.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably vinyl wrap them. Maybe with some fake carbon fiber 3M Di-Noc.

That's exactly what I have planned. I figure the busy pattern will also be able to hide any blemishes and scuffs from my kids shoes.
