So - just purchased GT3 mk1 side skirts. Just fitted them today and there is a gap rear of the panel. Just wondering if i should use polymer paste to fasten or ?
Also, does anyone have the part number for the clip set ?

If you're not using the metal clip rails, you can use 3m auto body tape to achieve the same thing.

Mine came with the metal clip rails but decided not to use them.

Unfortunately the skirt are not OEM but very nicely crafted. But i should be able to use the clips on that ?

 

Yeah, that shouldnt be a problem. Do you have the holes, shown in pic number one? Otherwise just drill some holes, and screw them in

 

Here are some pics - not sure if you see it but i trial fitted the skirt and there is this small gap on rear.

 

Now I c what you mean. Well use some 3M tape as shown on pic number 3. That should solve the problem!

If you just want the clips, I would go to the local porsche dealer, that is where I got mine from, dont Think they cost so much

My advice would be to find a great body shop (everyone should have one) to do a professional install OR return them (which you can't do once you've don any DIY work to it). The way it is, I would never put it on my car. It either hasn't been properly adjusted or manufactured.

 

Hi denversteve, thanks for the advice. I know what you mean and i do respect that.
I love doing some work on my 911. I previously updated the stereo system to the ipad mini install, yellow brake calipers, tinted windows, water pump, carbon wrap etc. so im pretty excited about doing the side skirts to be honest.
I have the time to do it and with the right work and fitment i think it will look great. Anyway will post some pics if i get the clips from the dealer

 

You are very correct. With the proper fit/trimming it should be fine. You'll probably have to reduce the high (front) half to allow the rear half to sit flush. I wouldn't use any type of filler.

 

nanoc, I have the exact same issue, perhaps we bought from the same company? Either way, I'm also working on a solution, I'll post back if I find anything out....
