I think you're right. Something doesn't look right, but I've never been a fan of the Cayman up till now......perhaps when I see one in person that'll change.

Looks like the new mitsuibitsi eclipse, and it would have been nice to have the rear open up like a mid engine (gt40, ferrari etc.) for engine maintenance.

HAH! You know I just saw a new eclipse this morning, and now that you say that, I can completely see the resemblance. I think the Cayman is one car that needs to be seen in person to appreciate....I hope

something is right about what arling said. the whole car doesn't add up right. somethings are too big, while others just shrink too much. let's wait to see it. but i am not sure i will be a fan.

The one thing that keeps hittin' me is the profile of the wheels/tires. There's just too much rubber there. Needs a larger wheel and lower profile tire, lowering perhaps.

When car companies veer into categories to sell more units it almost always dilutes the purity of the brand. The only time entering new categories makes sense is if a company can turn an existing one on its head (Cayenne) or to revolutionize it thereby creating a significant point of differentiation. The Boxster, while acceptable (to some) is enough of a stretch. Not everyone is fit for a Porsche and vice versa.
