LED 3rd Brake Light - Resistor Needed?

I already have LED Tail Lights that came with resistors and all work fine. I want to update the 3rd brake lights (2) to LED as well. Do I need load resistors for them? And if so, what specification?

From the ebay listings I see them packaged with 2 25W resistors PER brake light.

Just wanted to confirm.

I've search the forum but was not able to find an answer down to the specifics.

Thanks for the help.

There are only two manufacturers, Spyder and Depo. It doesn't matter where you get them from. Depo makes the highest quality aftermarket lights and a bit more expensive. The Spyders are cheaper but also cheaper quality.

Thanks for replies.

Just a point of clarification. I already have the Depo LED tails and they come with resistors and work fine. The question I had is when combining these with two LED 3rd brake lights (Wing and Trunk) would I need a resistor for the 3rd brake lights. Seems like the answer is still no. Will try without. Worst case scenario is I throw a light and have to add a resistor! I guess when you combined LED Tails with brake lights you start to drop the current pretty low. Hence the possible need for more resistors. I will let you know my results

Thanks all.

I went ahead and did the License Plate lights too. $1.40 per light.

third brake light operates off the resistance of the other two side lights...so basically if you your rear tailights have the resistors or are OEM bulbs then you should be fine without needing a resistor
